Our Family

Cheer Competition

Jocelyn’s cheer squad had their Cheer and Dance competition today and they kicked some butt!  They received 2nd place in the Dance portion and 1st place in the Cheer portion.  There were 11 5th grade teams so they did fantastic!  Here is a picture of Jocelyn with the trophies.

All the girls received medals.

So proud of Jocelyn!  She has been working her behind off for the past few weeks to get this dance perfected and it has paid off.  She has had a permanent smile on her face all evening  So nice to see!

We love you Jocelyn so much!

Updates please…

I am sure that is what you are all wanting!  So, I will work on getting the blog updated over the next week.  We have been so busy since school started in August.  Having 3 kids involved in activities has taken a toll on time in our family.  So, the time that I could be blogging…I am spending it with the family.   Check back soon and hopefully there will be a new post!

Hope you are all happy and healthy as we approach the holiday season!

Love to you all!

Lori

Guess what…

Took the kids to the dentist today and guess which one of the three has a cavity…

AUDREY!

I told you all…didn’t I!

My little “sweetie”

Audrey is my child that LOVES sweets and doesn’t ask me if she can have food…she will just find a way to get it on her own!

So a few weeks back I made some brownies.  I let her have a few small brownies one day.  I came into the kitchen to get a brownie for myself and this is what I found!

She left one little brownie in the middle of the dish!

She has a dentist appt this week…wonder if she will have any cavities!!!

Eli’s spring soccer season ended in June.

Getting his trophy from Brian and Coach Brad

With his soccer trophy!

Can you tell it was HOT that day!

Eli also went to soccer camp in June.

He learned some new skills and had a lot of fun too!

Just a few weeks until practices start for fall soccer.

We planted a garden again this spring.  Lots of veggies!  And we had planted strawberries last year and we got a ton of strawberries already!

They were so sweet and yummy!

Eli’s scout den met on a Saturday morning to go on a nature hike.  We went to the Overland Park Arboretum.  It is such a beautiful place to walk around!  Good group of boys and their families!

Here is a group of the boys…I only wish Eli was looking!  I better see if someone  else has a better picture of this!

These are 5 of the boys from their den.

They also had cub scout camp in June.  Brian was able to take work off to help out and I think he really enjoyed it!

I am so proud of him for taking such a big part in Eli’s scouting activities!

Eli and Brian ready for the 1st day of camp

Now, remember in all the group pictures that Eli is the one in the tye dye hat! 🙂

Archery

I big game of marbles using all kinds of sports balls!

They had a daily water fight!

Going on a hike

Indiana Jones Obstacle Course

Don’t you love the hat with his tye dye socks!

Eli and his good buddy, Gavin

The firetruck came in to camp to spray them all with water.

They also had a family night where we all got to go out to camp for the evening!

We had a good time seeing what Eli had done during the week.

We went to the zoo during the first week of summer vacation. The kids were excited to see the baby giraffes and to see if the SkyFari was open (it wasn’t open yet!). We always have such a fun time when we go…they are always so well behaved…and that doesn’t happen everywhere! 🙂

On the tram ride to Africa!

The baby giraffes were so cute.  We sat and watched them while we ate lunch.

They ride the carosel every time we go…a perk of having a Friends of the Zoo membership!

Audrey

Jocelyn – I am so glad that she will still ride along with Audrey.

Eli

Audrey – yes the sun was right in her eyes!!  I took 3 pictures and this was the best of the 3.

One of her favorite animals at the zoo are the snakes.  Snakes and Elephants are on her “must see” list for every zoo trip!

Last week, the tornado sirens went off in the middle of the day and the kids and I went downstairs. We were down there for a while and we were watching the weather coverage on tv. Eli asks me “Why do they keep talking about touchdowns when there are tornadoes around here?” He cracks me up! 🙂

And here is an Audrey story…
On Sunday morning Brian was trying to get Audrey to get up and get dressed. We had put out her clothes for her and she said “I am too tired to get them!” Brian says “They are only about 5 feet away” And Audrey says …laughing “Daddy, I only 2 feet, not 5!”

I love what comes out of their mouths sometime!! Thanks kids for making us laugh!!
🙂

Audrey’s turn

It is Audrey’s turn to start playing sports!  She had been telling us all winter that she wanted to play baseball like Eli.  So we signed her up for TBall.  They have only had a couple of practices because of all the rain.  She had her first game last weekend and she loved it!  She loved hitting and running!

Ready to play ball!

Running out to hit the ball!

Getting ready to bat!

Running to 1st base

I helped cover 1st base while the girls were batting!

I had to make sure they knew where to run next…most of them have never played baseball before, but they all did such a great job and they had big smiles on their faces!!

Running home!

I can’t wait for her next game!
