Our Family

To be continued!

That is it for tonight!  I will hopefully catch up this weekend!!

5K run

I would have never said Lori and 5K in the same sentence, but this year the kids joined the schools running club and so we signed up for the 5K together as a family.  Brian volunteered with the running club so that Eli could participate too.

I pushed Audrey in a stroller, yeah…I won’t be doing that next year!  That was a litte tough!  Brian ran it, Eli ran with his friends and Jocelyn ran with her friends!  We all found each other at the end to have some breakfast!

Jocelyn and a couple of her friends before the race started.

The 4th grade girls that ran the 5K!

So proud of all those girls!!

My friend Amiee and I after our 5K run/walk!

(I was holding the camera…so not the greatest picture!)

Jocelyn finishing her run.

All done with the race!

Then the next weekend, the kids participated in the kansas city kids marathon.

They had to run 25 miles up until that Saturday morning, then they ran the last 1.2 that day while the marathoners were running their race.  Such a fun environment to be in!!

Jocelyn and her friends ready to run!

Eli and his buddies ready to race!

These are all the kids from their school that ran the kids marathon.  Their principal also was with them…he had run the half marathon that morning.

We are so thankful that their school really wants the kids to suceed not only with academics, but with living a healthy life too!

Jocelyn’s musical “Go West”

The 4th grade musical was “Go West” this year.

Jocelyn was a dancer.

She did a fabulous job!  We are so proud of her!

Royals Game

We had a Saturday afternoon with nothing planned so we decided to spend the afternoon and evening the Royals game.  We went to tailgate and then went in to the ballpark early so we could walk around before the game.

Playing some football in the parking lot.

He did catch the ball!

Eli eating his favorite kind of chips!

And Audrey eating an apple!  She loves to eat fruit, but she loves candy just as much!

Audrey being a photograper and taking a picture of Brian getting the grill going.

And me..just sittin’ and relaxin’!!

The two of us…Audrey does a pretty good job of taking pictures!

Ready for the game to start!

We love going to the Royals game.  I am always amazed that our kids last an entire baseball game without (much) whining!!

Time with Audrey

Audrey and I took advantage of a beautiful day and went to Deanna Rose for the day.

“Milking” a cow

I told her to stand by that cow so I could take a picture.  This was the closest she would get to it.

Field Trip with Eli

In September, I went with Eli’s class on a field trip up to Weston.  I had gone with Jocelyn on this same field trip and it a beautiful place and we had an awesome day to go.

What a beautiful place!!

Kickball

So, because we didn’t have enough activities on the calendar…we decided to join a team for kickball!  I was a little apprehensive because I am NOT an athlete, but I am a social person…so when we were asked to join a team – we said yes!!

We had such a good time!  I don’t have any pics…thank goodness!  But we did have a wonderful time and the kids had fun cheering us on for once!

Cub Scouts

Eli joined Tiger Cubs this year and Brian is one of the leaders.  They have a good den of boys and it is such a great thing for boys to be involved in.  Here are some pics from this year of scouts so far this year.

Getting ready for their first den meeting.

Don’t they look cute…handsome!

Rain Gutter Ragata

He did really well, but we won’t know results until his pack meeting next week!

Ready to start racing his boat.

Go Eli Go!!

Here is Eli’s Den.

All the boys holding their boats!

Stay tuned for some more pics of Eli’s first year in scouts!!

Eli’s soccer season

Eli played fall soccer and had a wonderful season.  They had goalies this year and he loved that!!  So here are some pictures from Eli’s soccer season.

Playing goalie

Get that ball Eli!

Don’t you love the goalies face…

Eli had a great season and we have already signed him up for spring.

We are so proud of him!  Brian helps coach his team and Eli loves that!

But this winter, he is going to try basketball!  He is very excited!!

No, I didn’t forget about the blog!!

So,  it has almost been 2 months since I last blogged…so here it goes!  Not sure how much I will get done tonight, but we’ll see!  I know that with 3 kids life is supposed to be busy, but my goodness I never anticipated how busy this fall would be.  Brian and I also volunteer a lot of our time to several different organizations, so that keeps us busy too.  I am not complaining about being too busy because I am so grateful and blessed to have a fantastic family to be busywith.

Now it is time to fill you all in to our lives of craziness!!
