Brian’s Birthday

Brian’s birthday was the same day as the concert, so we celebrated Brian’s birthday on Saturday.  The kids and I made him a cake and they they picked out the candles to put on it!

Happy 34th Birthday Brian!

Taylor Swift concert

My friend, Kelly, and I took our girls to the Taylor Swift concert at the beginning of the month.  Kelly and I made the girls their “TAYLOR” shirts and they all looked so cute.  We took them out for dinner and then headed to the Sprint Center for the concert.  We had first row seats in the 2nd level, so we could see really well and the girls even made posters to put down in front of us.

Getting ready to head in to the concert!

Waiting for the concert to start.  They all got matching hats!

What a great concert it was!! 🙂

Updates…

So, I admit, I used to be sooo much better at updating this at least on a weekly basis.  Life has gotten a little crazy busy that last few months.  So here is what we have been up to!

March

Audrey had school pictures at the beginning of March.

I got cute smiles at home, but she didn’t smile at all for the photographer!  I will be taking her get her pictures done soon since her fall ones didn’t turn out either!

Jocelyn started the month with her state reading assessments and ended the month with her state math assessments.  We haven’t gotten the results back, but we are sure that she did great!  Jocelyn turned 9 on the 15th.  We let her choose what we had for dinner.  She chose toasted ravioli, mozzerala sticks and crab rangoons!  She loves to have snacky foods for a meal.

I took the kids to Iowa for part of spring break.  It was so nice to see everyone and spend more than 48 hours there!

We took Jocelyn to Hickory Park for lunch on her birthday.  She got sung too and we all had sundeas!  They have the BEST sundaes ever!!

Audrey enjoying her ice cream.  She was the first one done!  SHE LOVES SWEETS!!

Ryder eating his ice cream!

All 4 of them looking at the window…they were watching my moms neighbors jumping on the trampoline.  There were 6 kids on a half broken trampoline with no net!  SAFE huh!!

We also spent time with my cousin Jenny and her son Cam.  We had a lot of fun catching up.

We then headed to DM, to spend a few days with Brian’s parents.  We met Melanie at Craigs work for lunch.  THEY love to visit Craig at his work.  Melanie and I then took the kids to Bass Pro Shop to watch the fish get feed.

We looked at the pontoon boats for a while.  The kids had fun looking at all the different ones.

And so did Melanie and I!

We also celebrated Jocelyn’s birthday again..wow is she spoiled or what!

We also spent time with Mark and Deb.  We don’t see them nearly as much as we would like!  Maybe we could talk them into heading down to KC soon!  We also spent an afternoon with Brian’s cousin Amiee and her kids.  They just moved to Texas, so it was nice to spend some time with them before they moved.

We had such a fun week.  I am so glad we were able to go!

Jocelyn had her birthday party when we got back home.  She chose just to have 3 girls over to eat dinner, go cosmic bowling and sleep over.  It was great and the girls had fun!

The cupcake cones I made for them.  My mom used to make these for my birthday when I was little.  This was the first time I made them for the kids and they loved them!

Getting ready to bowl!

My birthday was the 22nd and the kids didn’t have school.  They made me breakfast in bed!  They all had aprons on.  Eli brought me a menu.  It looked like this:

Drinks

Juice – Milk – Choc milk

Toast

with butter – cinn/sugar – jelly

Cereal

I don’t remember all of them!  Sorry!  Jocelyn named every cereal that we had in the pantry!

Such sweet kids!

Eli also started soccer practice in March and loves it!  He had his first soccer game and the end of March.  He played pretty good, but their team needs to work better as a team!  He also had his last Kindergarten ABC night.  Brian went with him and said he did great!  Eli also mastered all of his kindergarten sight words.  And his address and phone number!  SO proud of him!  I can’t believe that he is almost done with Kindergarten!

Audrey had her conferences and she is learning her letters a few at a time.  She is doing pretty good considering she is in the three year old program.  She will be doing the 3 year old program again next year since she won’t be 4 until November!  So she has lots of time to learn all those things.  I am just happy that she is talking more… A LOT more!  She is part of a study for the University of Kansas ( I know, I never thought our kids would be part of something with KU!!), and they have been coming to observe her since January 2009.  Her charts show such improvement!  It is amazing!  And we were worried that she wasn’t talking!

That was March!!
